A program built around multiple customers

Wiz announced a managed service provider program September 28, combining centralized tenant management, flexible consumption billing and partner support for cloud and AI security services. The company says its Tenant Manager gives partners a portfolio view, policy controls across tenant groups and access to individual customer environments. Those are vendor-described capabilities, not independently measured service outcomes.

A console is only part of the offer

The program reflects an operational problem familiar to MSPs: moving between customer environments while keeping policies and investigations consistent. Wiz describes both common policy enforcement and local tenant policies. Buyers should establish how those options will be used in their service, rather than assume that a shared management interface automatically produces the right settings for every customer.

Ask who owns the last mile

For a small business buying managed cloud security, our recommendation is to ask what happens after a serious finding appears. Who confirms its relevance, who contacts the application owner and who can approve a change? A professional-services firm should also ask how the provider distinguishes its production systems from client-specific or temporary project environments. A dashboard entry without a decision-maker and a response expectation can remain unresolved despite excellent visibility.

Evaluate the service with a sample finding

Before expanding coverage, walk through a representative issue from discovery to closure. Request the customer notification, the proposed remediation, the approval record and the evidence that the condition was corrected. Clarify which changes are included in the service fee and which require separate work. For consumption-based offerings, establish how usage is measured and how unexpected growth is reported. Providers can use the same exercise to expose gaps between sales promises and engineering capacity. The new program may help partners organize work across accounts, but a buyer’s strongest comparison remains the actual process, responsibilities and evidence delivered for its own environment.
