Capital for expansion and development
Hadrian announced a $40 million funding round October 6, co-led by Forgepoint Capital International and SmartFin. The company says the financing brings its total raised to $65 million and will support expansion in the United States and EMEA, alongside engineering and research investment.
The proposition combines discovery and testing
The company describes Atlas as its continuous external-exposure offering and Nova as its on-demand agentic penetration-testing capability. It markets the products as a connected way to identify and validate exploitable risks. Claimed customer improvements in visibility and remediation speed come from Hadrian’s announcement; this publication has not independently tested those results. The financing is a completed company announcement, while anticipated expansion remains a plan.
What buyers should ask to see
For media companies, transportation operators and energy businesses evaluating such tools, our assessment is that a demonstration should begin with a clearly authorized scope and a known business workflow. Ask the supplier to show how it distinguishes a discovered asset from one approved for testing, how it records the actions it takes and how an operator stops a run. Those questions are especially relevant where a public-facing service depends on a separate supplier’s infrastructure. Ownership of a domain does not automatically settle responsibility for every service behind it. Make those boundaries explicit before a pilot begins.
Judge the remediation handoff
The useful output is a finding that the responsible team can understand, reproduce appropriately and resolve. A buyer can test that handoff by selecting a small set of known issues and following them from discovery through a verified correction. Record cases where ownership is uncertain or a proposed action would interrupt service. Procurement should ask how reports, evidence and historical results remain accessible if the relationship ends. For an MSP, that also means establishing whether findings can be assigned cleanly to the correct customer and supplier. Funding can accelerate product development, but customer value still depends on a reliable path from a discovered exposure to an accountable business decision.
